Two ears. One mouth.

It’s a quick post from me this evening!

As most of you know, I started Oo! That’s A Bit Racey! for a number of reasons; to share my personal journey towards antiracism, to document the many things I’m learning, to help distill my thoughts and, most importantly to encourage people to talk about race, ethnicity and equality.

For a blog that’s supposed to be about conversation, I’ve realised I’ve been doing an awful lot of talking.

So I’m feeling inspired, and very excited to give you all a rest from my voice, and to give us all the chance to listen to others.

I’ve met and connected with so many inspirational contacts over the last few months. I’ve spoken about how much this means to me in recent posts including Aha! Now I Understand!” and “Sisterhood.” I’m literally bouncing up and down at the prospect of sharing some of their voices with you through a series of interviews and by sharing some of their content.

Everyone has a story to tell and all of us are treading our own path.

Many of us are striving to help make our corners of the world a little bit brighter. By coming together we learn together. When we amplify each other’s voices, we all step up a little higher.

The first interview I’m looking forward to sharing is one I help with Jyoti, founder of My Wellness Company, this afternoon. She shared her views experiences of covert racism, belonging and self care. I can’t wait to share more with you and in the meantime, I’ll offer a little snippet of her wisdom.

Carve out a few minutes for yourself tonight. Start to form a small ritual that will keep you well. It’s a tough world out there and we can’t pour from empty cups.

I would love to hear from you if you’d like to join the conversation and share your story with me and the Oo! That’s A Bit Racey! community. Drop me a line here or over on Instagram.
